On Solid Ground By Melissa Collins

When Jacob “Dax” Daxton returns home from war, he has to fight a new battle – the one to find his place in the world. The man who normally has a clear path to victory surrounded by brothers in combat is suddenly lost and alone. After meeting Beckett Ridge, a bearded tattoo artist, Dax’s journey begins winding down an unexpected path.

Still reeling from events that shook his foundation, Beck has never been part of anything meaningful. Now faced with responsibilities foreign and daunting, Dax’s broken spirit mends Beck in ways he never even knew he was destroyed.

As both struggle to find balance, they are healed by the comfort they find in one other. On the other side of chaos, they hope to find themselves On Solid Ground.

Jacob Daxton ‘Dax’ ran away from life and joined the Army. After serving four years in the army he was sent home ‘PTSD’. So he ended up right back to the place he ran from. Dax has secrets and feels lonely and lost. Not knowing where he belonged in the world. Shortly after his return he moves to California to live with a very good friend.

Beck is a tattoo artist who runs his own shop. He has a load of his own problems to go with it. He loves his work it helps clear his head of all the bad things going on around him. He is also homosexual and open about it, even if he does not runaround advertising it.

When Dax and Beck meet at the shop there is an instant attraction. Neither one knows the other one likes the same sex. Through bad timing, droughts and denial the two have to learn the hard way to trust. Two stubborn ass men have to go through self doughts, death and a sweet little girl to find and learn what they really want and love.

I never knew how I would feel reading a homosexual romance but not only did I learn they go through the same as any straight couple, they have a lot more things put in their path. I laughed and cried reading this book. I do not care that it was two men. Love knows no color, religion or gender. I recommend you read this book. If you are against male on male or female on female relationships I feel bad for you. That’s my opinion as everyone has their own. Read On Solid Ground open your eyes to a different world.

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Melissa Collins has always been a book worm. Studying Literature in college ensured that her nose was always stuck in a book. She followed her passion for reading to the most logical career choice: English teacher. Her hope was to share her passion for reading and the escapism of books to her students. Having spent more than a decade in front of a classroom, she can easily say that it’s been a dream. Her passion for writing didn’t start until more recently. When she was home on maternity leave in early 2012, she read her first romance novel and her head filled with the passion, angst and laughter of the characters who she read about it. It wasn’t long before characters of her own took shape in her mind. Their lives took over Melissa’s brain and The Love Series was born.
