I'm not a big fan for eight-pack abdominal cover book , in fact it waited a while in my kindle. Recently I gave it a chance and I read it all in about two days, it's a short novel. Amazon / Smashwords
This is a typical kind of romance:

ex-marine alpha man - very sculputed body - amazing in bed - sweet and caring but possessive and rough

“Get over here and give your man some love.” 

The main characters are Axel ( how cool is this name??) and Izzy.

They were high school sweethearts, young and naive but they wanted to spend their future together. Then....life happended and they spent 12 years apart in anger and pain. Izzy was so lonely she married an abusive man, Axel felt betrayed and heartbroken convinced she abandoned him. Fate decided to let them meet again and give another chance to live the life they dreamed so much.

Even this is a cheesy romance, serious topic as Izzy's abuse is treated with intelligence.
She's a broken woman who accepts to live her life without true love and an everlasting hole in her heart. She has some really good friends though who want to help her and when she starts moving on, her husband doesn't want to let her go and a man she thought was dead appears in front of her.

Axel, a foster kid, chose a marine career in order to give Izzy and their future family all that would be needed. When he came back home Izzy has disappeared. He searched for her everywhere but then he convinced himself that she was not patient enough to wait for him.

When they meet again, they are not the same people they remembered. She's lost and scared, he's way more bigger and possessive.

“Process? What the hell is there to process? Where are you, Izzy? Not asking you again, and I am not fucking doing this text message shit like a goddamn prepubescent little shit.” 

Izzy needs some time to adjust having him in her life again but when she lets him in, hope and a stronger love she ever knew overwhelms her.

“Not one day went by Izzy that my heart didn’t belong to you. To this day there has only been one woman that has and will ever hold it. Fuck, baby but the love I have for you is so fucking strong sometimes, I wonder if it will crush me.” 

This is the first book of the Corps Security Series. During the story every characters we meet, Axel's collegues, have their overture which means there will be a lot of more novels to read! Some of them are already published!!! When the writer keeps the story interesting I don't mind to wait for another book. Need to be worth it though ;-) As I said before, this kind of romance setting is too common for my taste but it was a nice read, not oh-my-god-this-book-is-so-good kind of satisfaction but it is well written in an extra easy english, I am very sure to recommend it to all of you.

“Never again, Izzy West. I will never again let anyone take you from me, or anything from us.” 

There's a pleasant note from the author at the very beginning of the novel, it might be nice to read it because it will give you an idea how the writer inteded to address this book. You also find a complete playlist to listen during the reading!!!

Quante volte vi è capitato di uscire con le vostre amiche, andare a fare shopping insieme, chiacchierare con loro tra i banchi di scuola, mangiare un panino al fast food....e all'improvviso rendersi conto di essere quella con qualche kg in più, la meno carina, quella non vestita alla moda e con poco trucco sul viso??

L'età della crescita non perdona e tanto meno i propri coetanei...soprattutto se sono maschi e magari super carini e circondati sempre da belle ragazze, ogni giorno una diversa. Peggio ancora se si viene avvicinati da un ragazzo simile ed è lui stesso a chiedere di stare al suo gioco e chiacchierare perché così facendo le amiche carine saranno commosse dal suo "pietoso" gesto di parlare con la bruttina o per meglio dire THE DUFF. Nel dettaglio, sarebbe la ragazza meno attraente di tutti, che i maschi considerano per ultima ( se si accorgono di lei ) e che rimane in disparte mentre le altre si divertono a ballare nei locali.

Non posso nemmeno immaginare l'umiliazione di sentirsi chiamare cosi ma è quello che succede in questo libro a Bianca Piper dal "womanizer"  Wesley Rush. Siccome la nostra protagonista ha un carattere tosto, la sua reazione è quella di rovesciargli addosso un bicchere di Cherry Coke lasciandolo così a bocca aperta

“You're a disgusting, shallow, womanizing jackass, and I hope that soda stains your preppy little shirt." Just before I marched away, I looked over my shoulder and added, "And my name isn't Duffy. it's Bianca. we've been in the same homeroom since middle school, you selfabsorbed son of a bitch.” ( un applauso per Bianca!!). Frequentando la stessa High School e lo stesso locale, gli incontri sono frequenti e poco piacevoli.“Spanish, huh?" he said, glancing down at the scattered papers as he grabbed them. "Can you say anything interesting?""El tono de tu voz hace que queria estrangularme." I stood up and waited for him to hand over my papers."That sounds sexy," he said, getting to his feet and handing me the stack of Spanish work he'd swept together. "What's it mean?"
"The sound of your voice makes me want to strangle myself."       "Kinky.” 

Vivendo una situazione familiare complicata, Bianca vuole solo distrarsi e non pensare, Wesley è sorprendentemente disponibile nell'aiutarla. Incomincia così una "amicizia di interesse" che porterà i due protagonisti a conoscersi e imparare che spesso la prima impressione non è quella che conta.

First of all, I want to thank Mrs Amelia Hitchins and  "For the love of books" girls who provided me my ARC ( advance review copy ), they have been very nice to me and this is a great honor.
I seriously loved this book!!! This series is amazing and cherished very much all of it. do you need to refresh your memory? here's the link for the first and second book .
The author confirms her ability to surprise me keeping this story intriguing and exciting. I really don't want spoiler anything here...so I just write that for Syn and Ryder things are getting a little bit more complicated!!! Some secrets are discovered but some shadows still remain. when everything seems settled for them to start living their life together, growing a relationship, exploring what they feel for each other...some accidents happen and drift them apart. This is not an easy journey for them, suffer and pain are always to be found but this is a strong couple, they match and they have the same goals and want to fight together.
Syn is a warrion princess, she fights and loves with every cell of her body and heart, she beared a lot of troubles, her life changed suddenly and she's trying very hard to adjust. She wants to do the right thing but not sacrifice her heart. Her funny spirit never falter though!!
Ryder is an awesome male alpha character, at first sight he may seem shallow and selfish but he fights for what is important for him and Faery...his methods are peculiar but he get results, his army respect him and he knows his people depend on him. Big applause for the sex scenes!!! damn, this author knows what she's doing ;-)
Love, anger, passion, betrayal, lust and magic!!! you can find that in this book and so much more!!!

Good - S.Walden

Well....I guess I warmed up enough to review books I care a lot about ( I care about all of them but I confess some more than others! ). Forgive me Italian Cosmo Girls but I'm gonna write this post in english because I'd like the author to understand and hopefully appreciate it.
The book of the day is Good by Summer Walden.
I loved this book in every possibile way, characters, dialogues, subjects, descriptions ...all is amazing in this novel. a complete package!!
The main reason I really care about this book is a personal one. the female character - Cadence - and me have lived similar life experiences and felt almost the same emotions. it was like: what the hell??? after every chapter I had to stop because it was too much for me feeling that all over again. I was scared for Cadence, I was happy for her, I was suffering with her.  I know it might be extreme but sometimes books have this effect on you.  It was cathartic, thanks to this book I resolved some personal issues from my past and this is my way to repay.

The Plot:
Cadence is a seventeen years old, a senior high school student, who did a big mistake. she paid for it and she's trying real hard to get her normal life back, win again her parents trust and....maybe her car.
She's often alone and bullied by classmates but a math teacher, Mark or Mr Connelly, shows her some attention and kindness. bam!! big crush for her teacher...who is unavailable,forbidden,taboo ( you get the point!! ) and totally inappropriate. But his kind gestures escalate and feelings are confused....but in a Good way. This is their story .

Fighting Destiny , il primo libro della  serie The Fae Chronicles della autrice Amelia Hutchins.

Come vi avevo anticipato, uno dei generi che più mi appassionano è il Romance che io non considero assolutamente come gli Harmony!! In questi libri, la trama è sempre piuttosto articolata e raramente banale. Non si può di certo negare la presenza del fattore "hot steamy sex" ...che personalmente non sdegno affatto e spero nemmeno voi ;-)
Il titolo di questo blog è piuttosto chiaro ( romance & fantasy ) è la bellezza di questo libro è che rientra in entrambi i generi. In buona sostanza si tratta di un libro fantasy con una dose soddisfacente di sesso!!!

Non sono stata subito presa dalla storia ma ammetto che andando avanti ad ogni capitolo, c'era sempre un colpo di scena e interrompere non era facile!! Una caratteristica speciale di questo libro è che ha una Playlist niente male, un valore aggiunto non indifferente!!

Il livello di difficoltà è alto, come del resto per tutti i fantasy. Le descrizioni sono impegnative e anche se ci sono molti dialoghi, seguire il senso non sempre risulta facile.

Se il primo vi è piaciuto, sappiate che il secondo è già disponibile e il terzo verrà pubblicato molto presto.
Ho dato fiducia alla serie e ne sono rimasta soddisfatta e non vedo l'ora che esca il terzo libro!!!
