Questa mi sembra la giornata ideale per farvi sapere che il 25 marzo 2014 uscirà il nuovo libro di S. Walden!! Ve l'ho presentata con la recensione di Good. Avete quindi tutto il tempo per poterlo leggere, imparando così a conoscere questa autrice e aspettare insieme a me questa nuova pubblicazione. Si tratta di una storia d'amore ma in pieno stile Walden. Good - S.Walden

Well....I guess I warmed up enough to review books I care a lot about ( I care about all of them but I confess some more than others! ). Forgive me Italian Cosmo Girls but I'm gonna write this post in english because I'd like the author to understand and hopefully appreciate it.
The book of the day is Good by Summer Walden.
I loved this book in every possibile way, characters, dialogues, subjects, descriptions ...all is amazing in this novel. a complete package!!
The main reason I really care about this book is a personal one. the female character - Cadence - and me have lived similar life experiences and felt almost the same emotions. it was like: what the hell??? after every chapter I had to stop because it was too much for me feeling that all over again. I was scared for Cadence, I was happy for her, I was suffering with her.  I know it might be extreme but sometimes books have this effect on you.  It was cathartic, thanks to this book I resolved some personal issues from my past and this is my way to repay.

The Plot:
Cadence is a seventeen years old, a senior high school student, who did a big mistake. she paid for it and she's trying real hard to get her normal life back, win again her parents trust and....maybe her car.
She's often alone and bullied by classmates but a math teacher, Mark or Mr Connelly, shows her some attention and kindness. bam!! big crush for her teacher...who is unavailable,forbidden,taboo ( you get the point!! ) and totally inappropriate. But his kind gestures escalate and feelings are confused....but in a Good way. This is their story .

Shatter me - Tahereh Mafi

Ciao a tutte!
Sto cercando di rendere più equilibrata possibile la lista dei libri da recensire in base alla difficoltà dell'inglese e sono convinta che Shatter me di Tahereh Mafi sia adatto ad una principiante ma di certo non deve assolutamente essere snobbato da una esperta. La scrittrice in questione è una persona davvero straordinaria, questo romanzo è la sua prima opera e il successo è indiscutibile. Date un'occhiata alla sua pagina Facebook, merita!!!

Questo libro mi è piaciuto tanto che una volta terminato, ho comprato la copia italiana in libreria ( tradotto in Schegge di Me ). Personalmente considero la lettura di questo romanzo un'Esperienza. L'intensità è palpabile e la trama, anche se può sembrare poco credibile, è sorprendente. Ciò che lo rende così speciale, è lo stile che la autrice ha adottato per scrivere questo libro. A tratti poetico ma mai noioso, descrizioni da prospettive innovative che ti trasportano davvero nel mondo in cui si trova la protagonista, Juliette. La scelta stilistica, in un inglese semplice ed essenziale, ci permette di comprendere nel profondo tutte le sensazione che prova Juliette ( solitudine,felicità,rabbia,sofferenza ) ad un livello che non ho mai provato prima. Il personaggio maschile principale si chiama Adam. Un soldato pronto a tutto per salvare la sua amata. La sua forza e dolcezza si fondono insieme creando situazioni sentimentali coinvolgenti e appassionanti. Il Cattivo di turno si chiama Warner, la maiuscola non è un errore.
Come genere, lo si può catalogare  come young adult/dystopia ( un pò stile Hunger Games per intenderci...una dittatura ha stravolto il mondo e il genere umano...morte e desolazione etc.... ). Non è esattamente una lettura che gradisco ma la copertina ha attirato la mia attenzione e la curiosità ha avuto la meglio. sono stata premiata :-)

Fighting Destiny

Fighting Destiny , il primo libro della  serie The Fae Chronicles della autrice Amelia Hutchins.

Come vi avevo anticipato, uno dei generi che più mi appassionano è il Romance che io non considero assolutamente come gli Harmony!! In questi libri, la trama è sempre piuttosto articolata e raramente banale. Non si può di certo negare la presenza del fattore "hot steamy sex" ...che personalmente non sdegno affatto e spero nemmeno voi ;-)
Il titolo di questo blog è piuttosto chiaro ( romance & fantasy ) è la bellezza di questo libro è che rientra in entrambi i generi. In buona sostanza si tratta di un libro fantasy con una dose soddisfacente di sesso!!!

Non sono stata subito presa dalla storia ma ammetto che andando avanti ad ogni capitolo, c'era sempre un colpo di scena e interrompere non era facile!! Una caratteristica speciale di questo libro è che ha una Playlist niente male, un valore aggiunto non indifferente!!

Il livello di difficoltà è alto, come del resto per tutti i fantasy. Le descrizioni sono impegnative e anche se ci sono molti dialoghi, seguire il senso non sempre risulta facile.

Se il primo vi è piaciuto, sappiate che il secondo è già disponibile e il terzo verrà pubblicato molto presto.
Ho dato fiducia alla serie e ne sono rimasta soddisfatta e non vedo l'ora che esca il terzo libro!!!

Per la mia prima recensione ho scelto questo libro: His Kiss della autrice Melanie Marks.
 E' stato uno dei primi libri che ho letto e gli sono particolarmente affezionata :-)

Principianti, questo libro è fatto a posta per voi! Se volete cimentarvi in un libro scritto in inglese per la prima volta, questa è la vostra occasione ( prima o poi bisogna buttarsi! ) . Si tratta di una storia semplice, scritta in modo scorrevole con una trama leggera e molto molto dolce! 

Lo consiglio anche alle esperte. Certo...deve piacere il genere ( young adult ) e non nascondo che l'autrice non si è risparmiata con la melassa ma credo che ognuna di noi desideri immaginare attraversare quei corridoi tipici della High School americana, armadietti e lucchetti, ed attirare l'attenzione del bad-supercute-boy                                            della intera scuola!!!


She is Ally: she's sweet, nice and caring...but definitely not a party girl. He is Griffin or Griff the Grief Master. He's the captain of the hockey team and a troublemaker, most of the time a jerk but hot as hell!!
She is really scared of Griffin but in order to help his boyfriend from a big trouble she decides to talk to Griffin trying to convince him to not smash his face!!! Surprisingly he accepts...but at his only condition: "Kiss me"!!.

This episode causes a lot of nice and bad consequences that I obviously won't tell you but I guarantee you will make you feel the typical "butterlies in the stomach"!!

Per le scettiche dico solo che questo libro su amazon costa € 0,89....direi che si può fare, no??
Lo sto rileggendo anche io e mettendomi nei panni di una lettrice non esperta, ci possono essere dei piccoli ostacoli qua e là ma il bello della lingua inglese è, con una conoscenza di base, si riesce a capire il senso del periodo senza tradurre ogni singola parola. Magari vi capiterà di rileggere la stessa frase due volte perché vi siete perse ma è solo questione di abitudine. Non scoraggiatevi ;-)

It's a great honor for me to open officially this blog with the new release of the amazing Kristen Ashely. I love her single novel and it would be MY pleasure to introduce them to my italian girls. She means very much to me and I sincerely hope to do a really good job about it. Every single time I read one of her book I'm overwhelmed by her sense of loyalty, friendship, couple intimacy and she is absolutely hilarious!! KA deserves to be known in Italy!!

Tra le mie cosmopolitan girls, c'è già qualcuna che conosce questa autrice e per chi ancora non la conoscesse è un mio piacere presentarvela con la sua ultimissima pubblicazione.
Lei si chiama Kristen Ashely ed è una delle mie autrici preferite. Il libro si chiama Kaleidoscope:

Fa parte della serie Colorado Mountain  ma lo potete leggere anche se non avete letto i precedenti. Il bello di questa autrice è che ti da tutte le informazioni necessarie per non perdere il filo della storia tra un libro e l'altro. Io non l'ho ancora letto ma penso che inizierò stasera...non vedo l'ora!
Per una principiante non lo consiglio, è meglio che prima si cimenti in qualcosa di più semplice ed una volta che si sentirà sicura potrà godersi fino in fondo la magia di un libro della KA!!
Per un'amante dell'atmosfera americana in stile country - Colorado, questa serie è davvero il massimo!

Hi Girls!

Hai studiato inglese a scuola e pensi di averlo perso strada facendo? ogni tanto riconosci qualche parola quando ascolti una canzone straniera? provi a vedere i film in lingua originale ma ti si incrociano gli occhi con i sottotitoli?
Beh, il mio consiglio è:  prova a leggere un libro in inglese!! non c'è niente di meglio per fare un bel ripasso e nel frattempo ti puoi gustare una buona lettura! se avete un ebook reader, è ancora tutto più semplice!!!
ormai è dall'aprile del 2012 che non leggo che libri in inglese. Alcuni erano troppo difficili, altri troppo noiosi ma alcuni decisamente validi e molti davvero fantastici!! Come genere, mi concentro prevalentemente su young adult, romance e fantasy e ogni sotto genere del caso...ne esistono un centinaio quindi è difficile classificarli!
E' un peccato tenere questi tesori solo per me, così ho creato un blog per farvi conoscere questi libri. Vi allegherò una piccola recensione ( svelare tutto non sarebbe divertente!! ), il link dell'autore e anche quello di Amazon per l'acquisto dell'ebook o se preferite la copia cartacea. Il risparmio è notevole e spesso gli autori mettono in promozione le loro opere anche a $ 0,99 ( € 0,89 ). Sarà mia premura tenervi aggiornati sulle offerte speciali!! Indicherò anche il livello di difficoltà così sia gli esperti sia i principianti possono avere la loro scelta. Il pubblico a cui questo blog si riferisce è femminile, di ogni età, ( non si è mai troppo grandi per leggere storie d'amore ambientati in una tipica high school americana! ) ma anche i maschietti sono i benvenuti!
Sono decisamente all'inizio quindi il sito è ancora in costruzione ... nel concreto, devo ancora capire come funziona!! ma le intenzioni sono buone e spero di fornire a tutte un buon servizio. La mia idea è quella di poter intavolare una conversazione una volta che viene letto un libro, commentare sulla storia e su i personaggi...uno scambio di idee e opinioni, magari anche con qualche risata!!
Cercherò di tenere il blog più aggiornato possibile ma lavoro tutto il giorno e ho un marito meraviglioso ma "esigente" quindi devo trovare il modo di incastrare tutto come si deve!! Pensavo ad una recensione a settimana...se tengo bene il ritmo.
Ho scelto di scrivere la presentazione in italiano per dare a tutte la possibilità di farvi un'idea sull'argomento del blog....ma vorrei che la lingua principale fosse l'inglese in modo da poter coinvolgere anche lettrici non solo italiane e dar modo alle autrici, se vorranno, di fare un saluto anche a noi!! quindi sentitevi pure libere di commentare in english ;-) ma anche in italiano ogni commento è bene accetto!!
