Il tema del fratellastro figo per il quale si provano sentimenti di attrazione fisica e lussuria, è stato più che ampiamente sfruttato. E' una tematica che non mi dispiace, so che non è molto politically correct ma....onestamente, non mi interessa!!!
The Other Brother, è un libro suddiviso in tre parti, pubblicate a distanza di all'incirca un mese, una dall'altra. C'è molta suspance quindi quando il capitolo finisce in un modo, e si fa scorrere freneticamente il proprio ebook reader per leggere il capitolo successivo e si arriva invece alla scritta to be continued....beh ci si rimane molto male....
Spero che questa tipologia di pubblicazione non diventi una moda perché non la trovo per niente carina!!!
Seth è il fratellastro in questione, che ha deciso di andare a vivere con la madre, che si è risposata. La famiglia acquisita vive in Texas ed è composta da altri due ragazzi: Theo e Allegra. Seth, è molto attratto dagli occhi da cerbiatto e dai capelli rossi della sorellastra, ma deve ricordasi che ha solo 14 anni e che ogni desiderio di farsela in mille posizioni diverse, non è accettabile. E' difficile resisterle, non flirtare in sua compagnia, riesce a stento a trattenersi. Così decide che è meglio tenersi a distanza il più possibile dalla diavolessa tentatrice, di rado si presenta a cena e non degna ad Allegra la minima attenzione, almeno in pubblico!
Allegra prova desideri sessuali intensi per il fratellastro Seth. Sa che è sbagliato, che anche se non sono fratelli di sangue, quello che prova per lui è moralmente discutibile e questo le impedisce di correre nell'appartamento sopra il garage dove vive e saltargli addosso.
A parole non è mai stato confessato nulla ma è quasi certa che i suoi sentimenti siano ricambiati. Gli sguardi che le lancia sono abbastanza eloquenti ma gli atteggiamenti contraddittori. Continua a ripetersi che a Seth non è interessata ma è difficile stargli lontano....e non pensare a lui!
Durante questo gioco delle parti e scambio di sguardi assatanati, frustrazione sessuale abbondante, c'è anche il fratello biologico di Allegra, Theo. A Seth lui non è mai piaciuto, gli da una strana sensazione a pelle e non gli piace come guarda sua sorella.
Una sera qualcosa di brutto accade e Seth si ritrova ammanettato e Theo in ospedale.
Perchè Seth ha picchiato quasi a morte il fratellastro? Chi dei due "fratelli" è quello davvero pericoloso?
Il libro inizia quando Allegra ha quattordici anni. Gli ultimi capitoli ci portano al giorno presente quando Seth esce di prigione e si rifà una nuova vita, così come cerca di fare Allegra, rimasta traumatizzata dal ciclone che è stato il fratellastro per la sua famiglia.
Tutto sommato gradevole e avvincente, molto divertente in certi punti, stile scorrevole e la nota di suspance tiene facilmente il lettore incollato all'ebook reader divorando i pochi capitoli di cui è composta questa prima parte.
Non resta che attendere la seconda per sapere come proseguiranno le cose tra i due protagonisti!!
