Paxton's Promise - L.P. Dover

She hates him, yet she can’t get him out of her mind.

Female Bantamweight fighter, Gabriella Reynolds, has a bad habit of falling for forbidden fighters. Enter Paxton Emerson. He’s tall, tattooed, and the current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion. Everyone wants a piece of him, and he only has eyes for her. Through no choice of her own, she’s fallen in his debt and he’s now demanding payment. Too bad it doesn’t involve currency. Gabby’s decision to fulfill her promise to him ultimately brings out her true feelings, but also spurs the unwanted attention of another.

Rage’s fixation on his newest obsession reaches dangerous levels. Unfortunately, Paxton Emerson has become a roadblock to his end goal and needs to be removed from the equation—by any means necessary.

Gabby will do anything to save Pax, but what happens when she’s the one who needs saving?

I feel like investing in some boxing gloves and serious gym membership.

Paxton's Promise is the third book in the gloves of series. Even though each book features a different couple, this should not be read as a stand alone.

This book follows Gabriella and Paxton through some serious bad sh*t. In the second book of this series Paxton helps Gabriella and Ashleigh in a bad situation and as payment Gabriella must abide by Paxton's rules for a month. Seeing as she can't stand Paxton but secretly lusts after him it was bound to be a rocky road. Yay!!

I loved Gabriella's personality in the previous books and was looking forward to her story, and let me tell you the author did not disappoint. It was a thrilling ride from beginning to end and we even see some baddies from the previous books redeem themselves. Kyle  is a lost cause but I absolutely loved seeing a side to Camden that didn't screen villain. And after stalking the author's website and Goodreads, I have some good news.!! He is up next. Double yay!! I cannot wait.

Paxton was a bit dicey in the previous books but I fell in love with him right alongside Gabriella. And I love when that happens in books. That's probably why I only read romance books. I get to fall in love weekly or rather 'bookly'.

Again, I must stress that this should not be read as a stand alone.

The Pact - Karina Halle

*The Pact is a standalone, contemporary adult romance*

It all started with a pinky swear…

Linden McGregor is tall, rugged, and

gunslinger handsome; a helicopter pilot with a Scottish brogue and charm to
spare. He’s also one of Stephanie Robson’s best friends and has fit into that
box for as long as she’s known him.

Beautiful, funny and an ambitious

businesswoman (with one hell of an ass), Stephanie Robson is one of Linden
McGregor’s best friends and has fit into that box for as long as he’s known
her.

But some relationships can’t be boxed,

can’t be classified, can’t be tamed.

Back in their mid-twenties and tired of

the competitive hit-or-miss dating scene of San Francisco, Steph and Linden
made a pact to marry each other if neither one of them are in a serious
relationship by the time they hit thirty.

It sounds like fun and games but as the

years to thirty tick past and lovers come and go out of their lives, the pact
becomes larger than life.

Sex is inevitable. Friendships are

tested. Hearts are on the line.

The

pact is about to change everything.

Her eyes are so blue and wide, like the morning sky, her
mouth so perfectly full. I contemplate running my thumb over her lips before I
kiss the salt off of them.
I should just do it. I should just fucking do it.
I swallow hard, my throat feeling closed up but I know it’s
not from my cold. It’s from want and it’s from fear.
“What are you staring at?” she asks me, her voice shaking slightly.

Just fucking kiss her.

Darenset?  Simple. It started with a
kiss.

For the Love

of A Lady – Kristin Vayden

Jilted, rejected, unwanted.

Lady Esther Flanguard is all of the above… but that’s all
about to change soon.

brilliantly.
The only thing standing in her way is trying to convince
Cross—her best friend’s brother—to go along with it.

Essie’s plan is not a good idea.

The Devil

Duke Takes A Bride – Rachel Van Dyken

Who said being bad wasn't oh so good?
Benedict Devlyn, Duke of Banbury, has one thing on his mind
and it isn't marriage. But things take a turn for the worse when his menacing
aunt throws a hitch in his plans to remain the most sinful and talked about man
in the ton. After all, a man cannot keep the reputation of being The Devil Duke
when he is leg-shackled to some simpering spinster.
But his aunt, bless her heart, thinks she's dying, and
believes her nephew's behavior is the only thing standing in the way between
her entrance to heaven or hell. So she very lovingly and selflessly sets him
up. With his childhood nemesis.
A young woman who, though she claims it was an accident, has
nearly killed him thrice through her lack of grace and manners. It matters not
that the minute he sets eyes on her at the Christmas ball, his blood boils with
lust. He refuses to allow himself to fall prey to his aunt's ministrations.

That is, until he is compromised and stuck in an engagement
to a girl who claims she'd rather jump from a moving carriage than marry him.
Funny thing that, for the very minute she says no, he finds his heart very much
wants to say yes. When she doesn't leap at the chance to marry him, he sets
about to not only prove that he's worthy of her favor, but also worthy of her
heart.

A Winter

Wish – Nadine Millard

Mariah Bolton is as headstrong as she is clever, as
strong-willed as she is beautiful. She enjoys her life and, apart from a rather
snobbish mama, she is happy with her lot.
Imagine her consternation then when her world is turned
upside down by the brooding and aloof Mr. Brandon Haverton!
Mariah and Brandon are forced to endure each other’s company
more than either wants to when a snowstorm traps them in the same house.
They argue, they bang heads and they drive each other
insane.
But something precious is blooming beneath the surface of
all that ice. Something neither looks for but both need.
Can love melt the snow around Brandon’s cold heart?
Can Mariah be brave enough to take a leap of faith?
And can a Winter Wish help bring two souls together forever?

Crush - JC Emery

Young love is always perfect. Until it's not.

Cheyenne Grady is a total daddy's girl to her bad-ass father, the Sergeant-at-Arms of the Forsaken Motorcycle Club. She's funny, and kind, and she just wants that deep, earth-shattering love like her dad has with her school secretary, Holly. But Cheyenne's been looking in the wrong direction, because the only good that can come from the way she looks at Jeremy Whelan is a lesson in heartbreak.

Jeremy always wanted to prospect for the Forsaken Motorcycle Club and wear the same patch as his father. When a life-long dream becomes reality, Jeremy realizes that the outlaw lifestyle is not for the faint of heart. Nor is it easy on relationships. He wants to be a good man, but temptation is everywhere.

Cheyenne is beautiful, and strong, and exactly what Jeremy could have forever. As long as he doesn't screw it up.

Love is never more powerful than the first time.

If you like motorcycle club books, you will like the Bayonet Scars series. Unlike other books you will want to start with the first book RIDE, THRASH and REV before you read CRUSH.
J.C. Emery did such a great job with connecting these books together. Crush is part of the story about Cheyenne aka Miss Priss to the club and Jeremy aka Baby Boy.

Cheyenne’s father is Grady Sergeant of Arms in the club. She is a teenager who skips class and will try to get away with what she can as long as she does not get caught. A new counselor takes an interest in her school life, which leads her into going to Cheyenne’s home to have her fatter sign some papers. Cheyenne is growing up, she hates being treated like a little girl, and her dad is trying to keep her. She is starting to like boy’s one in particular she is crushing on Jeremy. Growing up in the club she knows to get any information you have to sneak around and listen. Club business stays in the club but she is on a mission to find out information. This gets her into different messes she also learns things she does not want to know. She also learns the hard way sneaking around listening to conversations can put you in danger. Find out what information she learns that she ends up in the middle of one big dangerous problem.

Jeremy wants to prospect for the club so one day he can be Forsaken but he is too young. He does a huge thing for the club which helps him become the youngest prospect. He also grew up in the club with his father being a member of even as he sits in prison. His sister is the Old Lady to a member. Who teaches Jeremy how to be a real man he should be. Things are changing in his life so fast he is enjoying so of it and confused about the rest. He is crushing on Cheyenne also but relationships are not on his mind. He wants to be around her and acts like he does not when he is. She is mouthy and he can not let her disrespect him in front of the club. Finally they make the decision to be together. Is it too late with all the danger around the club, with her putting herself smack in the middle of the biggest problem the club has?

Cheyenne and Jeremy are a good couple; each one of them loves the other but is it enough for their relationship last when he has to let her go?

Crush is a great book, I am glad of had the privilege to read it and the first three before it. With everyone having their personal problems and still dealing with the clubs big problem you really have to live in the book, I spent the last week or so reading all these books. Not only do I recommend you read Crush, I recommend you read the whole series. That is my opinion.

My girl blushes before stumbling over her words as she asks, "Do you want kids?"
I stop breathing, stop moving-- even doing the pat-bounce-- and don't know what to say to that. Heard it from a couple of the brothers before. Don't ever mention marriage to a chick unless you're ready to have kids because that's all she can see in her future. Probably should have listened to that shit before opening my mouth.
"I want to be a mom," she says. Fuck. I still can't move and Robin's starting to scream again.
She's greedy with the pat-bounce, so I force myself to make my hand move. It barely calms her.
"Not now, but someday," she clarifies.
"Eh, why not," I say like it's no big deal. "I'll be a fucking pro at this shit by the time I'm thirty."
"Thirty is probably young enough to have kids," she says through a yawn. And I swear, my fucking heart starts beating again and I relax my arms around Robin. "Let me try again," she says and reaches for her. I hand her over, hoping Chey's better with her this time because that crying has got to fucking go. When she cradles Robin against her chest, she moves her around a bit before settling in and doing the pat-bounce. Robin is still crying but it's nothing like before.
"There you go," I say and smile at her.
"I can't believe my mom didn't stick around for this," she mumbles. She doesn't talk about her mom, but for some reason she is right now. I don't got shit to say because my mom didn't stick around either. It's not like I have anything encouraging to say. "Nic's probably going to remember every single thing about her daughter from her favorite color to her worst nightmare."
"Yeah, I give her shit, but Nic's like a fucking grizzly about the kid. She's a good mom."
"I'm glad Robin has that," she says and I agree.
"Me too," I say.

Ride :

Death comes in Armani. Salvation comes in leather.

Principessa to the Mancuso crime family, Alexandra knows a thing or two about living outside the bounds of the law. Suffocated by the future her father has laid out for her, she makes a choice she can't take back, changing the entire trajectory of her life.

Thrust into the dark and dangerous world of the Forsaken Motorcycle Club for her own protection, Alex finds herself faced with the last thing she needs right now: the man of her dreams. He’s sex in leather, the devil incarnate, and one hell of a kisser. But he’s also off-limits. Ryan Stone can be her friend, but he’s forbidden to be her lover.

Third-generation Forsaken, Ryan knows nothing other than life on two wheels, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. He enjoys the many privileges that come with the patch, and the only laws he recognizes are the ones set-forth by his club. That is, until who he wants more than anything isn’t allowed on the back of his bike —or in his bed. Balancing his desire for her body, and need to keep her safe, Ryan tries to keep Alex at a distance. Finally having made a choice for herself, she’s done hearing the word “no” and will push boundaries even Ryan himself doesn’t dare cross.

Love is never more tempting than when it’s forbidden.

Thrash:

Loneliness suffocates the heart. Acceptance breaks down walls.

As a Lost Girl to the Forsaken Motorcycle Club, Nicole Whelan knows how to party. She’s not cut-out for relationships and her life is way too complicated for anything more than casual encounters. But one night when she falls into Duke’s bed at the clubhouse, he sees something in her that he can’t let go of—no matter how many times she tries to run.

Having been left to raise her teenage brother, Jeremy, she’s already got her hands full and isn’t looking for anymore complications. But Duke’s just watched his best friend fall for the only girl he couldn’t have, and then almost lose her so shortly after, shaking him to his core. Faced with his own loneliness, he’s more determined than ever to break down Nic’s walls and show her that he can be good for her; but he’s got a bad track record and she’s got a bad temper. Changing his ways isn’t easy when he’s not sure what he’s even changing for.

The violence and turmoil are at an all-time high, and Forsaken is in a vulnerable place when a twist of fate breathes new life into the club. It’s a much-needed beacon of hope for the embattled biker family, even if everyone’s not exactly on board. With Duke and Nic’s relationship already on shaky ground, and something even more important at stake, the Forsaken Motorcycle Club will fight like hell to keep their family together and whole.

Love is never more precious than when it’s new.

REV :

With the looming threat from the Mancuso Crime Family, the Forsaken Motorcycle Club is preparing for a war that could destroy them. Grady, the club’s Sergeant-at-Arms, knows that love makes you weak, and he has zero interest in adding to his liabilities– especially now. He’s already got his teenage daughter who keeps him on his toes and a beef within the club that could fracture his relationship with a fellow brother for good.

For Holly Mercer, her life is finally getting on track and the last thing she wants is trouble from her hometown’s resident outlaws. Keeping her nose clean is easier said than done, when suddenly she finds herself embroiled in club business. Holly might like the idea of being with a real-life bad boy, but even being in the same room with tough-as-nails Grady flusters her.

When Holly inadvertently finds herself on Mancuso’s radar, she has two choices: trust that Grady will protect her, or continue to refuse the club’s help. Both roads are dangerous, but only one has the chance to damage her beyond repair.

Love is never more dangerous than when it can destroy you.
