Degradation (The Kane Trilogy #1) - Separation (The Kane Trilogy #2) by Stylo Fantome

WARNING: contains a wannabe B-rate porn star, an impersonal personal assistant, and the F-word, A LOT. Also graphic sexual situations and sadomasochistic themes.

Everything is fun and games until someone gets hurt, and what Jameson Kane did to Tatum O'Shea goes so far beyond hurt, he is well into the realm of unforgivable. Tate says she wants him gone for good, and he quickly learns that the old saying, “you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone”, is most definitely true.

But Jameson has never been very good at following instructions, and when Satan decides to seek redemption, he'll go to great lengths to get it. He proposes one last game – one to end them all, if she agrees to play. He is very confident that he can win, but Tate warns him that it's not possible; she will not lose again. Little does she know, Jameson is prepared to do whatever it takes. Prepared to lay the entire world at her feet. Prepared to bear his soul.

What he didn't count on, though, was handing the damn thing over.

Now Jameson can only pray that his evil ways haven't rubbed off on Tate too much. Sometimes, it's very difficult to tell who the Devil really is …

5 Degrading and I love it stars!  I highly recommend Stylo Fantome's, The Kane Trilogy, to those who love a little dark and dirty in their romance!

This is why I love Goodreads.  I went on the prowl for my next read.  I am on a very strict budget so I usually read some reviews and maybe ask friends for recommendations before I make a purchase. Well, I read Becs' - Sinfully Sexy Book Reviews, review of Stylo Fantome's Degradation, and I knew this was a book for me!  I went to Amazon and one-clicked right away.  Best decision!  There are so many great authors out there, and when you find one whose characters stay with you, it is exciting, and now I have a new favorite author to add to my list! Stylo Fantome's Degradation is smart erotica.  I don't consider it dark, because I read what is marketed as dark.  This story has some of the same elements as a dark romance, but it is somewhere in the grey.  Yes, I said grey!  It is daring, sexy and psychologically thrilling.  The hero and heroine are in a consensual, kinky and unconventional relationship.  Jameson Kane and Tatum O'Shea are dysfunctional.  Not because of their sexual kink but because they are playing games with each other that neither one of them is equipped to handle.  This is where the story is psychologically dark and intriguing.

The secondary characters in this story are exceptional.  I was connected to each character as the story unfolded.  What exactly is the story? It's the start of a relationship, with characters that will draw you in and maybe confuse you a little.  I mean, I'm kind of into Jameson - and he is Satan in disguise!  I love his horribly filthy mouth and intimidating demeanor.

Tatum is someone I would want to know.  She is unique, thoughtful, true to herself and daring.

Start reading and see if you are able to put it down!  It is engaging, "dirty and degrading," and I loved it!

Can the Devil be Forgiven?

WARNING: contains a semi-reformed devil, a woman scorned, and more Sanders than anyone has a right to witness. Also graphic sexual situations and strong language

Separation (The Kane Trilogy, #2), by Stylo Fantome does not disappoint. It begins where Degradation (The Kane Trilogy, #1) leaves off. In my experience, in the romance genre, it is somewhat common for the middle book of a trilogy to be looked upon as “the filler book.” This however, is not the case with Separation. Separation is a necessary departure from Degradation, moving the story along beautifully. The tone is different from Degradation.
We spend time with Jameson, Tatum, Sanders, Ang and Nick. Some questions are answered and back story visited, while at the same time we get a love story. Actually, there is a lot of dysfunctional love to go around. There is Jameson and Tatum, Tatum and Sanders, Jameson and Sanders, Tatum and Nick, Tatum and Ang, Ellie and Tatum.
They are all dealing with the consequences of extreme relationships, and what they mean to each other. It is complicated, because people are complicated. Some people think a person can not change. They are of the mindset “if he hits you once, he’ll hit you again.” Well, what if you wanted him to hit you? Is Jameson still aka Satan? See, that’s complicated!

In my opinion, the clever ending will leave you wondering if anyone actually learned something about love and life! It will leave you wanting more, which is great because we get Reparation (The Kane Trilogy #3) to conclude Jameson and Tatum’s story in December, (expected publication 12/8/14).

Separation is smart, erotic romance. It is very well written, so 1-Click and enjoy!

The Devil has met his match

When Tatum O'Shea decides it's time for some payback, no one is safe from her new game - not even the devil himself. Tate is going to get her happily every after, even if it means making everyone else unhappy in the process.

But a persistent Jameson, a meddling Sanders, and an amorous baseball player make it very hard for a girl to keep her focus, and suddenly it seems Tate has a few too many suitors for her fairy tale ending.

Sometimes, it's very difficult to tell who Prince Charming really is ...

Black Lies by Alessandra Torre

Brant:
Became a tech billionaire by his twentieth birthday. Has been in a relationship with me for 3 years.
Has proposed 4 times. Been rejected 4 times.

Lee:
Cuts grass when he’s not banging housewives. Good with his hands, his mouth, and his cock. Has been pursued relentlessly by me for almost 2 years, whether he knows it or not.

Go ahead. Judge me. You have no idea what my love entails. If you think you’ve heard this story before, trust me – you haven’t
.

Black Lies, by Alessandra Torre, what a great story... and I knew "The Secret," before I started reading because I read a spoiler!
This book is so much more than a great plot twist. Alessandra Torre has a way with words; there is no doubt about that. If you have read Ms. Torre’s books before, then you know what I mean. If this is your first time, dive right in. It is fantastic and if I tell you more than that, I might spoil your reading experience, although it didn't for me. That is how much I liked it!
What can I tell you? It is an exceptionally well written love story. The depth of our heroine’s love is immense. Heiress, Layana Fairmont, learns about love when she falls for Brant Sharp. He is a brilliant and beautiful man, he has always been brilliant.
Brant started his own company, BSX, after building his first computer when he was a kid. Layana learns about love when she falls for Lee, as well. You don’t think you would like a book that involves cheating? Read it anyway, it is that good! I give it five beautiful, black stars and that’s no lie!

QUOTES

“When you really love someone, you cannot walk away. No matter what they do. No matter the lies from their mouth, or the actions from their bodies, you tie yourself tightly to their sail and vow to be there through thick and thin. Let the wind blow you where it may. Even if that place is a crash. Even if that place tears you apart and kills anything good.”
**************************
“Love isn't about being happy. Be single and be happy. Love is about putting him, his sanity, his happiness, first. If you aren't willing to do that then you aren't really in love.”
*************************
“She stares in my eyes and loves me with a vehemence all her own. A scary, passionate type of love. One that rips away all pretenses and allows us to love each other bare and without consequence.”
******************************

“True love makes a person reckless, makes them take risks and make sacrifices. True love tests the boundaries of our person, makes us yearn to be better and fight for the ground we stand on. I will fight for this love. Lie for it. Steal for it. It is worthy of that. On paper, we are a horrible match. I have no light; she brims with it. I am serious; she is fun. But off paper, that is where our magic occurs. I want to be more like her. I want to listen to her laugh and have had something to do with it. I love her completely. She returns the love wildly. This love is worth the unsaid truths. The hidden lies.”

Filthy series - Megan D. Martin

***Filthy is a dark erotic serial novel that will release monthly in segments of around 50 pages each. This book is not for those who like a traditional heroine. Faye and Rhett's story is dark, complicated, and twisted with themes that are not acceptable to all readers. Read at your own risk.***

Teresa really enjoyed these books. Here's

her 5 star review.

If you have not read Filthy 1, or Filthy 2, read those first! I love dark romance & erotica. I love books that are psychologically thrilling and shocking, dark and edgy... The Filthy serial is so well written. Each volume will leave you with an elevated heart rate. Megan D. Martin leads us into a world of depravity, beyond what I expected. Her writing is gritty and gutsy - Visit Megan's Goodreads author's page. She explains how she wanted to write a really dirty story about a young, homeless, prostitute. That is exactly what she did, and it is excellent.
[ SPOLIER: I understood why Faye wanted to die. I thought it would be better for her to die!] The level of emotion and anxiety that Martin was able to pull out of me made for a very exciting read. Filthy 4 is due out November 3rd, and I really want it now!

The White Years Quartet (The adventures of Eleanor Schreiber, submissive)

Teresa tells us about dark romance/erotica, and her love for the author Tiffany Reisz.

The Saint (The Original Sinners: White Years #1)

In the beginning, there was him.

Gutsy, green-eyed Eleanor never met a rule she didn't want to break. She's sick of her mother's zealotry and the confines of Catholic school, and declares she'll never go to church again. But her first glimpse of beautiful, magnetic Father Søren Stearns and his lust-worthy Italian motorcycle is an epiphany. Suddenly, daily Mass seems like a reward, and her punishment is the ache she feels when they're apart. He is intelligent and insightful and he seems to know her intimately at her very core. Eleanor is consumed—and even she knows that can't be right.

But when one desperate mistake nearly costs Eleanor everything, it is Søren who steps in to save her. She vows to repay him with complete obedience…and a whole world opens before her as he reveals to her his deepest secrets.

Danger can be managed—pain, welcomed. Everything is about to begin.

Teresa Review

I will read anything Tiffany Reisz writes. Her voice is extraordinary. If you have not already read The Original Sinners series, starting with The Siren, I urge you not to cheat yourself out of that experience. After that, we continue with The Original Sinners: White Years, beginning with The Saint. It is not necessary to read the first series, but it is truly amazing erotic fiction.

The Saint tells us Nora’s story from the beginning. If you think you must already know her story because you read the first four books, you are wrong! Reisz cleverly feeds us details that we never knew, while at the same time giving us a look at what is possibly to come.

The Saint is captivating, Reisz effortlessly moves the reader forward. You will be mesmerized and then it will be over! So, like I said, if you have not already, begin with The Siren and you will have much more pleasure and pain to look forward to. I binge read all four books in the first series! I am kind of crazy like that. Tiffany Reisz is one of my favorite authors. If you are ever in a “book slump,” read or reread one of her books or novellas and you should be good to go!

Now, I am patiently (not) waiting for The King. Some of you might think it is wrong for me to jump the gun and say that The King is going to be an equally impressive five star read. I, however, do not!

Stepbrother Dearest by Penelope Ward

**Contains graphic sexual content and harsh language. It is only appropriate for adult readers age 18+

You’re not supposed to want the one who torments you.

When my stepbrother, Elec, came to live with us my senior year, I wasn’t prepared for how much of a jerk he’d be.

I hated that he took it out on me because he didn’t want to be here.

I hated that he brought girls from our high school back to his room.
But what I hated the most was the unwanted way my body reacted to him.

At first, I thought all he had going for him were his rock-hard tattooed abs and chiseled face. Then, things started changing between us, and it all came to a head one night.

Just as quickly as he’d come into my life, he was gone back to California.

It had been years since I’d seen Elec.

When tragedy struck our family, I’d have to face him again.

And holy hell, the teenager who made me crazy was now a man that drove me insane.

I had a feeling my heart was about to get broken again.

Stepbrother Dearest is a standalone novel.

Teresa's Review

Stepbrother Dearest is a beautifully crafted love story. Penelope Ward has written about life, pain and love in this intense and satisfying story. It is a page turner, it's sexy. It is confusing, it's somewhat angsty. It is heartwarming and heartbreaking! It is so much.

Our main characters are Elec and Greta. In the beginning, Elec comes to live with his father, stepmother and stepsister during his senior year of high school, while his mom is away. Elec is something else; he is full of personality! I have not enjoyed a book boyfriend this much in a while.

No need to tell you more plot details here, just that Elec and Greta grow up and the story moves forward, as you experience their lives. I loved it! No story of any genre is ever going to be perfect for everyone; however, this one was perfect for me!

QUOTES

“The "one that got away" was supposed to stay away, not come back and leave you all over again.”
**************************************
“I never had a problem with the way you look at me. My issue is the way it makesme feel when you look at me: things I’m not supposed to feel, things I can’t let myself feel for you. At the same time …nothing felt worse than when you stoppedlooking at me, Greta.”
************************************
“I want to be the only one to show you everything and to be the one you'll always remember for the rest of your life.”
**************************************
“He was hers. I was his. It. Was. Fucked. Up.”

“I want to give you a choice depending on what you’re in the mood for.” “Okay.” “We can go find the nearest hotel, and I can make love to you in a bed or...” “Okay. Or?” “Or we can go outside right now and fuck hard in that alley.”

“Someday, he’ll realize he made a big mistake. He’ll show up here, you’ll be long gone, and the only bitch greeting him will be me.”

Rampant (Condemned #2) - Gemma James

RAMPANT is a new adult dark romance with disturbing themes and explicit content, including sexual scenes and violence that may offend some. Intended for mature audiences. Part two of the CONDEMNED series. This is not a stand-alone read.

Life is twisted. Cruel. After being ripped from the safe haven of Rafe's arms, my new kidnapper is waging a sick game. Unable to make my body do his bidding, he's resorting to psychological warfare. He'll bend my mind until I break, and when I do, that just might be my saving grace.

I'll forge through hell to get back to Rafe, body and spirit broken and bleeding, but I'm unprepared for what I find. He's done what I can't: he's erased eight years of pain and betrayal. I don't know how to bring him back to me, because bringing him back means ripping him to shreds all over again.

Teresa Review

ARC kindly provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

It picks up where Torrent leaves off. If you are a lover of dark romance, and have not read Torrent, start there. Don’t miss these two books, they are fantastic!
Rampant is another level of dark, dirty and twisted. Ms. James knows how to write scary, heart pounding descriptions – with exquisite detail. She really took Rampant to the next level in terms of suspense, as well. I want to keep this a spoiler free review. I think the book blurbs tell you enough about the plot. Gemma James draws you in to each character, even the ones you hate, you’ll hate with a passion! Also, it is disturbing, but only in the way that you would expect dark erotic romance to be. Both Torrent and Rampant are page turners. Be prepared to read until finished! Number Three in The Condemned series is Fervent. Honestly, I hope there will be a number four, but if not, you’ll find me reading whatever else Gemma James has written!

Escorted (Escorted #1) - Claire Kent

She hired him to take her virginity...but now she wants even more.

Lori might be a popular romance writer, but she's never been anything but a flop with sex and love in her personal life. Still a virgin at twenty-six and increasingly frustrated by her inexperience, she decides to take matters into her own hands. She hires a talented, sexy male escort to take care of her inconvenient virginity.

She assumes one time with Ander will be enough, but she never dreams how much pleasure he can make her feel. Once isn't nearly enough. Twice isn't enough either. Soon, she becomes one of his regular clients.

Lori knows that nothing would be as foolish as falling in love with her paid escort, but she's never been wise with her heart. And, despite his professionalism, he doesn't seem entirely immune either

Teresa's Review

Escorted was an excellent read. I enjoyed it so much that I really debated on my rating. The only reason that I did not give it five stars is because I wanted the writing to be a tiny bit more sophisticated. Let me tell you why you should read this book. Both the Hero and the Heroine are wonderfully developed characters that I connected with and cared about. Clair Kent did not waste words where they were not needed. She is all action, thus Escorted is a page turner. Finally, the sex scenes... they were great. I kept wondering to myself why I wasn't looking for a little more plot and a little less sex, but I concluded that most of the sex was the plot, and it was artfully done.

I am really on the fence about having wanted "more sophisticated" writing, because I am thinking it was just my own mood. I admire Kent's ability to tell a story and her underlying wit had me smiling a lot. I highly recommend Escorted, by Claire Kent.

QUOTES:

“Anyone can write good sex scenes. All you need is some basic knowledge of anatomy, the right vocabulary and some choice reading material. Experience has nothing to do with it.”

“I guess I keep waiting for someone to choose me, to want me, over all the other women he could have.”

“Me big strong man. Me take woman from behind.”

“Feeling like a caveman tonight? Or do you still insist you’re immune to such primitive impulses?”

“Here is a piece of advice. Never pay attention to what a man says when he comes. Anything might be blurted out at that moment, and it rarely means anything.”

“Just once I'd like to see you be wrong about something."

"Oh, I've been wrong about plenty of things," Ander murmured, pulling her toward him and draping both arms around her waist. "I just don't like to advertise the fact.”
